Description
VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide) is a 28-residue neuropeptide of the secretin family with receptors throughout the gut, lung, brain and immune system.
Its research identity is breadth: smooth-muscle relaxation, circadian-clock synchronization in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, and anti-inflammatory immune signalling are all active VIP literatures, making it a multi-field reference peptide.
