Adipotide (FTPP) is a peptidomimetic designed to target prohibitin on the blood vessels that supply white adipose tissue, linking a homing sequence to a pro-apoptotic domain.
In published obese-rodent and primate studies, disrupting adipose vasculature produced marked fat-tissue regression — a striking result that made the molecule a reference compound for vascular-targeting research in metabolic disease, though it remains strictly experimental.
