Description
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide agonist of the ghrelin (growth-hormone secretagogue) receptor, historically notable as one of the most selective compounds of its class.
In published animal work it stimulates GH release with little effect on cortisol, prolactin or ACTH — the selectivity that made it a favoured tool for isolating GH-axis effects in research. It also appears in gastrointestinal motility studies via the same receptor.
Format & handling
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in a sealed, batch-stamped vial. Store sealed at −20 °C protected from light. For laboratory work, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water shortly before use and refrigerate any working solution at 2–8 °C.
