Description
TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, the actin-binding region of a peptide found in nearly all mammalian cells and concentrated in wound fluid and platelets.
Research interest centres on cell migration: thymosin beta-4 regulates actin dynamics, the machinery cells use to move into injured tissue. Published models include dermal and corneal wound healing, cardiac injury, and angiogenesis assays. The fragment form is studied as the presumed active core of the parent peptide.
