Description
Semaglutide is an acylated GLP-1 receptor agonist analogue whose albumin-binding side chain gives it a multi-day half-life. It is the most-referenced GLP-1 compound in the metabolic literature.
Research applications include appetite and satiety signalling, gastric-emptying studies, beta-cell function and neuroprotection models, where it serves as the benchmark long-acting GLP-1 agonist against which newer molecules are compared.
