Description
5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme highly expressed in adipose tissue that consumes NAD+ precursors.
Blocking NNMT in cell and rodent models raises intracellular NAD+ and shifts adipocyte metabolism, which is why the compound appears in research on cellular energy expenditure, adipocyte biology and muscle ageing. It is a research chemical without clinical development history.
