Description
IGF-1 LR3 is insulin-like growth factor 1 extended by 13 residues and substituted at position 3, modifications that drastically reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins.
Free of IGFBP sequestration, it is far more potent in cell culture than native IGF-1 — which is why it became a standard growth supplement in laboratory cell-culture media and a reference tool in growth-factor signalling research.
Format & handling
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in a sealed, batch-stamped vial. Store sealed at −20 °C protected from light. For laboratory work, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water shortly before use and refrigerate any working solution at 2–8 °C.
